PASA
PASA is the largest publishing industry body in South Africa, committed to creativity, literacy, the free flow of ideas and the encourages a culture of reading.
The Association was founded by and on behalf of South African publishers, in recognition of their particular role and responsibility in protecting and promoting the Bill of Rights which forms part of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa; with particular reference to the fundamental rights provision which have reference to the freedom of expression, inducing the specific freedoms referred to therein, namely:
- Freedom of the press and other media
- Freedom to receive or impart information or ideas
- Freedom of artistic creativity
- Academic freedom and freedom of scientific research
